Local Dr. Expected to Step in as 'Snakes Owner

By KGNS News

The current ownership group of the Laredo Rattlesnakes is looking to sell the majority of the team with an announcement expected soon. Sources close to Pro 8 Sports say Dr. Judson Somerville of the Pain Management Clinic of Laredo will be stepping in as the majority owner. Current team owner Chad Dittman currently owns teams in the Valley and Corpus Christi as well. During halftime of Laredo's win over the Magic on Saturday, Dittman revealed he is selling the majority stake but will still retain a minority piece of the Laredo franchise. Originally he was only supposed to own the Rattlesnakes, but due to other financial issues, he took on the Hammerheads and Magic as well. He said Saturday he is also looking to sell the Valley franchise, mentioning the areas D-League basketball owners as a possible buyer.
