Martin's Castillo up for State Honor

Thursday night featured a record breaking performance from Martin's Rudy Castillo and now the senior runningback has a chance at state honors. Castillo tore up the Corpus Christi Moody defense to the tune of 471 yards and five touchdowns on 28 carries, as the Tigers picked up a 62-27 win. Now he is up against nine other Texas high school football players for the Gridiron Legends Player of the Week, presented by Dave Campbell's Texas football. The senior says he is extremely humbled by being up for this award against players from across the state.

"It's a great honor and a great priviledge. I actully didn't know about it, my mom texted me earlier in the day and she is very proud of me. I can't thank any other then my teammates and God for making me on of the Texas nominees."
