There may only be one round of games left in the 29-5A softball season, but that doesn't mean there isn't intrigue and drama left. There is a three team battle for the final two spots with United South, Del Rio and United all in the playoff hunt. As it stands now the Panthers and Queens would get the final two spots with the Longhorns on the outside looking in. Tomorrows games though could shake all that up with South taking on the #2 team in the district in LBJ and United facing winless Alexander. The Panthers sit with a record of 6-5 and will be in with a win over the Wolves. Del Rio is done for the season at 6-6 and would clinch with a loss by United. The Longhorns need a win over the Bulldogs to tie Del Rio and would be in a three-way tie with a win and a South loss. One thing we do know is both Eagle Pass and LBJ have already clinched their spots in the postseason and all three LISD teams will miss the playoffs in district 31-4A.
