A tennis player at Laredo Community College will get to prove just how good he is at the small college championships later this week. Ciao Gomes is on his way to Mobile, Al, for the national competition after receiving an at-large selection from the tournament's committee. The freshmen needed the at-large bid after he took 2nd during the Southwest Regional Championships held at LCC on the last weekend of September.
Gomes will compete in his first match tomorrow morning at 8:30 against the #4 seed out of Seminole College. As a team the Palomino men have won seven straight national championships.
