Those kids are not the only ones going to a World Series from the Gateway City, as a group of Pony Leaguers are headed to Lafayette, IN next week. Today they were out on the corner of Del Mar and Springfield, selling bottles of water for $1 a piece and taking donations for their trip north. One of the teams players tells us he is excited to hit the road and hopefully bring a championship back to Laredo.
This same group will be at the corner of Del Mar and McPherson tomorrow from 9 am to 5 pm selling waters and taking donations. Their first game will be one week from tonight against the East Zone champion.
We have also learned that the 8U Pony League team will be in the World Series championship tomorrow night at 7.
