Rattlesnakes Coach "Must Play 60 Minutes"

By KGNS News

The Laredo Rattlesnakes opened their 2013 season with a heartbreaking loss to the Abliene Bombers Saturday night. Laredo took a 12 point lead into the break, seemingly in control of the game both offensively and defensively. The Rattlesnakes scored at will in the first 30 minutes putting up 47 points and scoring on all six of their possessions.

The 2nd half would start off strong with Laredo scoring twice more but that's where the wheels fell off, as they were shutout for the final 24 minutes. In that time the Bombers rattled off 27 unanswered points, including a touchdown with 17 seconds left to take the 62-61 victory.

Head coach Rod Miller says he's obviously disappointed in the outcome but will use it as a teaching tool for the rest of the season.

The Rattlesnakes will look to bounce back this Friday in their home opener at the Laredo Energy Arena as they take on the San Angelo Bandits. Kickoff for that contest is scheduled for 7 pm.
