Saturday night saw the Rattlesnakes take another step in their ultimate goal of a championship, as they defeated New Mexico to move on to the Lone Star Football League title game. It took a strong second half as Laredo trailed by ten at the break and had many in the LEA nervous they would see their Rattlesnakes suffer the same fate from the previous year. After a week of practice, where the score from last seasons first round loss was a constant reminder, the 'Snakes played inspired football and were able to get last years failure off their back.
Now Laredo moves on to play the Amarillo Venom in the championship game. The game will be this Saturday in Amarillo, a place Laredo has struggled to win in as the home team has won all four previous meetings between the Rattlesnakes and Venom.
