The Rattlesnakes have been working behind the scenes, looking to land a new man to be the face fo their franchis, and now they believe they've found him.
As you heard here first on KGNS, former Virginia Tech QB Bryan Randall will be under center as the Rattlesnakes newest QB come the start of the season. Randall set VT records in his time as a Hokie, throwing for over 6,500 yards and accounting for over 8,000 total yards. He went undrafted out of college but did spend time in the NFL with Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay. Since then the QB won the 2010 Indoor Football Leagues Player of the Year.
The Rattlesnakes GM says Randall agreed to come to Laredo aftera number of players endorsed the city and team. "Some of the other players that know Bryan communicated with him that they played here last year and that the reason they are coming back is because of the community because of our owner Dr. Judson Somerville and coach Rod Miller."
It is still not entirely known what number Randall will wear, but he did wear #3 in college. That number belongs to fan favorite Michael Bragg, who is signed for the 2013 season.
