The Rattlesnakes are 2/3's of the way through their season and sit a 1/2 game up on Amarillo for the top spot in the Lone Star Football League. The two teams will meet in the 3rd of their four scheduled match-ups this Saturday in Amarillo. Luckily for Laredo, the Rattlesnakes are coming off a bye week and will have a full two weeks off by the time the two meet.
For most of the Rattlesnakes, this week off came at the perfect time, as the team gears up for their final push of the 2013 season.
"It's always good to get a bye late in the season for the fact that as players we are rolling and rolling all the time, so we get a nice little break so we can start this playoff run. It's not late and it's not early, it's perfect."
"We had a lot of guys that were banged up. Anytime you play a season everybody is going to have some sort of them, nobody is 100 percent healthy, so we needed to rest everybody. Heck I needed some rest too for some aches and sores."
While Laredo has been off, the Venom will play in Abilene tonight. The Rattlesnakes next home game will be two weeks from tonight on June 10th against the Abilene Bombers.
