While the head coach is gearing up for his bi-district playoff game, his daughter Ali Sanchez was signing her Letter of Intent to play at TAMIU beginning this fall. Sanchez is a star outside hitter for the United volleyball team that played in the UIL playoffs and also mans first base for the Longhorns softball team. The future Dustdevil will continue with the double-duty, playing both sports at TAMIU and while she knows it will be tough, she couldn't pass up the opportunity.
"It's crazy, not a lot of people are able to play one sport but being able to play volleyball and softball is amazing and I'm just blessed. It's an awesome feeling."
Sanchez added one of the biggest reasons for staying local is so her dad can still watch her play volleyball in the fall, while he is busy with football.
