The Laredo Rattlesnakes were able to pull out the big victory over the Rio Grande Valley Magic Saturday, pulling out the 65-31 win.
'Snakes Quarterback Matt Jeffers completed 16 of 23 pass attempts for 185 yards with four touchdowns.
Lineman DePhillip Harris rushed for three touchdowns, while WR Demarcus Jenkins and Jerome McGee added two touchdowns apiece.
Head Coach Rod Miller said they mixed up their style of play and the offense, defense and special teams handled it especially well.
"We just wanted to come out and get back to the real style football that we play. You got to mix it up, we got a run game in, and they weren’t expecting that. Which is good for us as it paned out. So we just got to get back to the basics. Got our run game going, our short pass game going."
The Rattlesnakes are now tied for first place with their 5-4 record.
As Pro 8 Sports reported Saturday night, Owner Chad Dittman said he is selling the Rattlesnakes and the Rio Grande Valley Magic.
It is not confirmed who the new owner will be as of yet, but we are told the owner will be someone local.
