District foes rooting for district foes can be a strange thing but when the season is growing long and the playoffs are on the line that is exactly what can happen. Saturdays game between United and Del Rio saw more than a couple United South shirts in the crowd and for good reason. With the Longhorns win over Del Rio, United South is in full control of their own destiny and snapping a six year playoff drought. There is still a possibility Eagle Pass, Del Rio and South could be tied for two spots but the panthers hold the tie breaker thanks to a few of their big wins already this year.
The Panthers will have a bye week and then finish their season against their south side rivals the LBJ Wolves. If South can beat LBJ they will be in the playoffs for the first time since 2007.
