Tomorrow will mark a special day for the TAMIU soccer programs as they look to raise awareness for a local woman dealing with cancer. The men's and women's teams will be taking on Dallas Baptist on the field and are hoping to pack the stands as they host 'Kicks for a Cure' night. Different from some other events, the proceeds from Thursday night will go to a specific woman in the Laredo area, Mrs. Maria Delgado.
"To have this kind of activity where we can help someone in Laredo, it makes us feel good but it also makes us serve and that's what we want to do." (Claudio Arias, Men's/Women's Head Coach) "Returning it to that specific lady is going to be great for her and it motivates us too." (Sol Medina)
"Any opportunity we can do to help the community, anybody should always take it and to be able to do that for someone that has cancer it's always a big thing and always a blessing to be able to help." (Adrian Elicerio)
The games will kick off tomorrow evening at 5 pm as the women's team takes on the #5 team in the region. The men will follow up that game with their own contest at 7:30 against the Dallas Baptist Patriots.
