As basketball winds down the spring sports are kicking into gear and TAMIU held a breakfast pre-viewing their teams for the spring Tuesday morning. The baseball, softball and golf teams were all on hand to hear encouraging words from school president Dr. Ray Keck and their coaches. The softball team is looking for their 5th straight postseason apperance and golf is working on improving from their fall season as they head into spring. Baseball had a very successful weekend, sweeping UT-Permian Basin at Uni-Trade Stadium, starting off the season 3-0 in conference play.
"Starting off anything undefeated is a great feeling and it builds confidence. It's just an overall excitement for the rest of the season and expectations for what we can accomplish is higher."
The baseball team will host Oklahoma Panhandle State this weekend with a double header on Friday, followed by a 1 pm start on Saturday.
