Friday's game between United and LBJ was a costly one for both teams starting quarterbacks. LBJ will now be without their main offensive weapon after Erick Garay suffered a right knee injury and will be lost for the season. The junior was leading the Wolves in rushing with 388 yards and three touchdowns. LBJ will now turn to Miguel Contreras to go under center and run their option attack.
Also in that game, Uniteds Derek Esparza suffered an ankle injury and was forced to the sideline as well. Sophomore Josh Ramos entered the game and threw for 77 yards and a touchdown in limited action. Today Longhorns coach David Sanchez told KGNS Sports he doesn't think the Esparza injury is a serious one and that his senior should be on the field after United's bye week, when they will face Eagle Pass.
