United Ready for Re-match with Harlingen South

By KGNS News

The United Longhorns are gearing up for their Area round match up with Harlingen South as the UIL playoffs continue tomorrow. The two teams met in the Region IV Quarterfinals last year, with UHS getting the best of that matchup 71-59. United finished the regular season in a tie for the district 29-5A crown, with a record of 10-2.

Now the Longhorns are on to the area round where they know they can't take the Hawks lightly, even though they've had recent success over South.

"We're a little confident but we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. We're just going to take it one quarter at a time and go from there and see if we can finish them off with a win." (Aaron Gonzalez)

"Rebounding is the main key, and just locking up on defense. As
long as we play our defense our offense will come easily. It's just our defense that's the main thing." (Rudy Gonzalez)

United and Harlingen South will play tomorrow at 7:30 at Texas A&M Kingsville.
