Kids ranging in age from 5 to 18 years old were up bright and early these past few days competing in a golf tournament.
Both girls and boys participated in the Webb County Junior Championship tournament that look place at Casa Blanca Golf Course.
The tournament began Friday morning and prizes were given this afternoon.
Trophies and medals were up for grabs, but the big prize for the 15-18 year old group was an exemption to play in a national tournament next summer.
Narda Garcia took home the grand prize for the girls.
"I'm excited. I like being the important one. I don't know I just feel excited."
On the boy’s side, Luke Begwin earned the trophy.
In the 12-14 age group, Sammy Sanchez won first for the boys, and Kristina Gutierrez won it for the girls
In the 9-11 year old age group, Felix Gamez took it for the boys and Idalinda Guerra won first for the girls.
In the under eight group, Madison Escoto won first for the girls and Faraon Garcia for the boys.
