One local basketball player is starting to make a name for Laredo basketball at the college level.
Former Martin High School player, C.J. Martinez now plays for Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.
The point guard may be one of the smallest on the team, but the freshman has earned some playing time in their first few games.
Martinez has put up eight points and has two steals in just 17 minutes of play.
Martinez was the all-district MVP last season when playing for Martin.
