TAMIU Releases Applicants for AD Position

At TAMIU the search is on for the next Athletic Director and today the list of names was released of everyone applying for the job. In all 25 men and women have applied for the position as the head of the Dustdevils athletic department.
Some of the more interesting names are that of Claudio Arias, the current TAMIU mens and womens soccer coach, who is also serving as the departments Senior Associate Athletic Director. Also named is Edwin Dickerson, the father of current Dustdevil sophomore pitcher Stephen Dickerson. Raphael Romo has also applied, he is currently a professor of Kinnesiology at TAMIU and served as the interim athletic director for the Dustdevils at one time.One of the other names is that of Jose Melendez, former General Manager of the Laredo Broncos.
The university did not issue a statement on any of the applicants, but did say their committee is dedicated to having this process done and a new AD in place by the end of April.
