High school baseball season will begin on Monday and one local high school is ranked in the state of Texas.
The Alexander Bulldogs are ranked third in the preseason poll by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association. The Bulldogs won the district title last season.
They've been hitting the weight room hard so far this year hoping to go deep into the playoffs.
Alexander has many young faces on the team but they still have big goals for this season.
"To stay strong to keep that number three ranking and hopefully move on because we got a big target behind us and a lot of people want to prove something, prove us wrong, and hopefully we'll prove them wrong."
"A lot of hard work has been put in through the off-season. But there is still 30 some games to be played, we can't be thinking about that stuff. We still have to play the season, well see how it goes."
Alexander will play a non-district game on Monday in McAllen before Border Olympics begins on Thursday.
