The old adage goes, if you are practicing high school football on Thanksgiving, you've had a successful season. Only one team in Laredo is left playing and that's the Alexander Bulldogs. This morning, before sitting down with their family and friends, the Blue and Gold took to the practice field in preperation for Weslaco on Saturday. This Alexander team is making history as the team playing after Thanksgiving for the most consecutive years.
Alsexanders game will be Saturday at 7:30 in Kingsville. We will take a closer look at the Bulldogs and how they are hitting their stride tomorrow in sports.
Alexander isn't the only team still practicing here in 8 country as the Bruni Badgers are gearing up for their playoff game tomorrow. The Badgers cruised through their district going a perfect 4-0 on their way to a 9-1 season with their only loss coming on the road to 9-1 La Villa High. Bruni will face Woodsboro high school, who is coming off a convincing 50-20 win over Bartlett in the first round of the playoffs. The Badger had the advantage of a bye last week, allowing their players to rest up and heal any nagging injuries. Bruni and Woodsboro will play tomorrow at 1 pm at Texas A&M Kingsville. \
