Tomorrow will mark exactly one month since Alexander and Eagle Pass ended their only other meeting of the year in an on-field arguement that saw both benches clear and the game end in a five all tie. The play that started the incident began as an innocent fly ball to right caught by the Bulldogs, but an errant throw home would cause chaos on the basepaths and eventually at the plate as well as in the stands. Both managers would go toe-to-toe at one point and accounts vary on who said what from the stands, but in the end the umpires decided to call the game in the top of the 7th.
Now the two teams will meet again, this time in Laredo, but Alexander manager Mario Garcia says he doesn't expect the same fireworks this time around. "I have the utmost respect for the Eagle Pass team and their fans. Hopefully that we can have a good game this time around. It's always been a rivalry with us and Eagle Pass but a good clean and respectful rival and that's what I expect out of this game."
Since the tie both teams have only one loss each on their records, both losing to undefeated United. First pitch for this one is scheduled for 7 pm at Uni-Trade Stadium.
