By KGNS News

The 3rd round speak it's name to any high school football player, coach or fan in the Gateway City and they immedietly know it's lore in Laredo. There have been a nubmer of great high school football teams in Laredo, from many of the cities high schols, but noen has been able to break down that 3rd round wall in modern day Texas football. Most of the time it means taking on a team outside of Corpus or the Valley and instead facing off with a squad from San Antonio. Teams have been close in the past but seem to trip up when it comes to this round. For the third straight year, the Alexander Bulldogs have that chance and they say the time has come to make Laredo history.

"We haven't been past the third round so that's our main motivation. To get past that round is what we're looking to do. Break that door down."

"I went to the third round three times already so if I don't break that oor down this time, I'm going to be pretty sad. And I mean that, so that's my goal to break that door down."

Alexanders game with O'Conner will kick off at 2:30 Saturday afternoon. If you can't make the game be sure to tune in to KGNS sports for your only place to see the highlights the day it happens.
