Just falling outside that countdown is the fantastic season of United's Terry Delhite, who has collected another honor following his record breaking season. The senior wide receiver was named to the Associated Press All-Texas first team after a dominating 2012 season, being one of only two wide outs in the state to earn that status. Delhite was forced to see more double teams after quarterback Alec Salas was lost for the season and fellow receiver Derek Esparza was moved under center. Despite the change Delhite caught 101 passes for 15 hundred and 26 yards with 11 touchdowns breaking the state mark for career receptions in the process. In addition to being named an all state performer he will also play for the US team in the first ever under-18 International Bowl in February.
Delhite was not the only player honored, as a number of Laredoans made the Texas High School Coaches Association's all-academic team. Alexanders Homero Cisneros, Jasmin Escobar and Jesus Vasquez, Cigarroas Orlando Rodriguez, Martins Rudy Castillo and Roberto Gallegos, Uniteds Alec Salas and United South's Cesar Alfaro, David Lopez and Edgar Trejo were all named to the 2nd team. In addition to these ten young men, another 20 made the cut as honorable mentions. Congratulations to each and everyone of them for all their hard work this football season.
