It will be a big Saturday for Alexanders Brandie Garcia, as she is the only Laredo cross country athlete competing in the state meet. Garcia finished 5th at the regional meet in San Antonio and with that finish, she gets an automatic berth at the state championship in Round Rock. The Alexander senior broke her personal record at regionals, but says she can do better at state. Garcia talked to us about what it will take to hit her goal.
"Just run. Run hard. How coach tells me if I think it hurts, make it hurt more. If I think I'm running fast, run faster. Just focus and run my heart out."
The state meet will be this Saturday November 10th at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
