As the school year winds down more and more high school seniors are making their decisions on where to play in college. Today a pair of seniors that guided the LBJ softball team to their first ever playoff appearance signed on to play at Coastal Bend College in Corpus Christi. Most high school athletes don't get the chance to even play in college and even fewer have the opportunity to play with one of their teammates.
"We were leading the team together and making history with the team together, making the playoffs and making a deep run in the playoffs. Now to be playing in college together is a true blessing." (Maria Castro, Heading to Coastal Bend College)
"it's an incredible chance to play with my close teammate i have for the past four years. I couldn't ask for more." (Daniella Garza, Joining Castro at Coastal Bend)
Castro wants to study kinnesiology and plans to become an athletic trainer while, Garza wants to earn a degree in teaching and become a softball coach.
