The two Uniteds were in action Monday night for the boys basketball playoffs in the bi-disrict round. United went to Alice and came away with a 70-42 win thanks to 15 points from both Aaron Gonzalez and Rob Garcia. They will move on to the Area round this Friday.
Things didn't go as well in Rio Grande City for the Panthers who fall to Edinburg North 76-70. United South would fall behind by 36 points before mounting a comeback that fell just short. Jerry Lopez led the Panthers with 28 points, while Mario Vargas added in 12.
