United on a Mission for Regional Tournament

By KGNS News

United was back on the practice court today preparing for their match up with Edinburg North in the round of 32. The Longhorns dominated Harlingen South Friday night, holding the Hawks to a total of 20 points over the first three quarters. United will now take on an Edinburg North team that finished as the number one seed out of district 30-5A and has a record of 26-6 overall. This is the 4th straight year the Longhorns have made at least the 3rd round and if they win Tuesday, it will mark back-to-back regional semi final appearances, something they desperately want.

"It'd be a great feeling for United and for the city of Laredo to go back to back to the Sweet 16 would be a pretty awesome feeling." (Eddie Gonzalez)

"Ever since we were freshmen it's what we wanted, we want to get there again and hopefully we can." (Raul Moreno)

"It'd be a special moment, I don't think it's been accomplished in Laredo but if we can pull it off." (Eddie Vasquez)

United and Edinburg North will tip off tomorrow at 7:30 at Calallen high school.
