With only 13 games left in the season, the Lemurs are in a dog fight for the top spot in the American Association's South Division. With their win last night, Laredo has moved back into a tie with Grand Prairie for the top spot in the division but Amarillo looms only one game back of those two. The Lemurs will finish off their home schedule with a three game series against Sioux City beginning Tuesday. Then because of a scheduling quirk, Laredo will hit the road for a rare northeast road trip with games against Newark, New Jersey and Quebec of the Can-Am League. Both the American Association and Can-Am league have an uneven number of teams, so the leagues play a number of series against each other. It just so happens that Laredos lone Can-Am league road trip comes as the last ten games of the season. While those three teams are not in the American Association, the Lemurs wins and losses will count towards their official total.
