Local Law Agencies Raise Money for Charities in Basketball Tournament

By KGNS News

We still have 16 days until basketball season begins, but this weekend the Combined Federal Campaign came together for a basketball tournament to raise money for local non-profit organizations.
Six local agencies, including Border Patrol, HSI, the DEA, Customs, FBI, and the fire department all joined in to form twelve teams.
They played a friendly tournament to bring home the trophy and of course, raise money for a good cause.
"This is the one time of year that agencies can come in to the federal building and ask for assistance for whatever charity. So today we have twelve teams here from the local community here, from the local federal agency to play round ball."
Jenkins also said he would like to thank LBJ for allowing them to use their gym.
Laredo Border Patrol north was able to defeat the fire department in the championship game for the trophy.
The tournament raised about $3,000.
