One of Laredo draftees in the 2013 baseball draft returned home for a short visit. Former United Longhorn and Mississippi state pitcher Luis Pollorena just got back from the College World Series. He won't get to stay for long though as he'll leave for Arizona to pitch in for the Rangers rookie team. Pollorena said pitching for Mississippi State has been an exciting three years. "It's the best three years I've had playing baseball. It's been a blessing to wear the maroon and white but every chapter must come to an end. Now it's the beginning of the new one and now it's time to put on the blue and red." Pollorena was selected in the 23rd round by the Texas Rangers in this years draft.
