For the 3rd straight year the United South softball team is gearing up for a run through the UIL playoffs. This years team was expected to do great things but you would have never known that with the way things started. The Panthers got off to a rough start, which had many in the city scratching their heads wondering what happened to this potent team. It was a midseason 13-12 win over United that turned their season around and put them on the path to their 3rd straight postseason apperance. "When we play with our heart and passion it will show and that's really our weapon the field and our faith in each other." (Ariana Reyes, PANTHERS 2ND BASEMAN)
"I think it feels better because we struggled at the beginning and came back to make the playoffs. It feels better working hard every practice. It's going to be good on Friday." (Rebecca Fuentes, PANTHER 3RD BASEMAN)
United South will open the playoffs Friday night against Edinburg North right here in Laredo. They will take on the Cougars at the SAC with first pitch scheduled for 7 pm.
