The Toro's de Los Dos Laredos are preparing for their next home game here in the Gateway City and are hoping for big things from the U.S. crowd. The Toro's have played two home games at the Laredo Energy Arena and while they came away with wins in both, the players are hoping the crowds continue to grow.
Players say they are still trying to get use to playing home games in two different cities, let alone two different countries.
"It's still a bit surreal that we are playing in Texas as well as in Mexico. It's a nice change, no doubt about it. We love this arena, it's a very nice arena and we're looking forward to packing it." (Rene Rougeau, Toro's Shooting Guard)
"We got a pretty decent turnout the first game and hopefully we'll get a better turnout these next couple games as well. Obviously playing back home in Nuevo Laredo we get a nice fan base and here it's a bigger arena with more seats to fill but it's been fun so far." (Brody Anglee, Toro's Point Guard)
The Toro's next home game here in Laredo will be Friday night as they take on Veracruz in a match up of the past two Mexican League champions.
