Toro's Knock off Veracruz in Finals Rematch

At the Laredo Energy Arena last night, the Toro's de los dos Laredo's, took on the team that kept them from repeating as champions. The Toro's would jump out to an early 12-3 lead over Veracruz, and despite the Red Hawks fighting back in the 3rd quarter, Laredo managed to pull off an 89-75 win. They improve to a record of 5-1 on the young season.
Ike Ofegobu led the way for Laredo with 19 points, Adrian Henning added 17 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Shooting guard Rene Rougeu had another well rounded game with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The Toro's will now take on the other Veracruz team, this time in Nuevo Laredo. Tip off for that contest is scheduled for Sunday at 5 pm.
