The I.B.C. Lago del Rio was the site for youth appreciation night.
It’s an event which honors those high school students who are tops in education in Laredo.
The U.S, Border Patrol.... KGNS-TV.... youth of the year was named.
She’s Annie Miller who goes to Martin High School and the Vidal M. Trevino magnet school.
Annie plans to go to Texas A & M International University and major in speech pathology.
As youth of the year, she receives more than five thousand dollars in scholarship money.
It includes a new pledge of $2,000. dollars from the Fernando Salinas trust.
She also gets to go to Austin for a huge celebration hosted by Laredo Senator Judith Zaffirini to rub elbows with state lawmakers.
